Offsite Backups
A second line of defence for your data — recoverable even when the datacenter that runs your workloads is not.
Overview
Every UNIQCloud product already runs its own application-managed backups — Managed Databases with full, incremental and Point-in-Time Recovery backups, Kubernetes as a Service with its platform state, Managed IaaS with virtual machines and volumes. These backups are stored in the same datacenter as the workload, making them the fastest route for everyday restores.
Offsite Backups complement them rather than replace them. The service copies those backups to a UNICC-operated site in a remote region outside UNIQCloud, kilometres away from the primary datacenter. If the datacenter itself is lost — fire, flooding, or a prolonged site outage — the offsite copy is your independent recovery point.
What It Gives Your Team
Common Operational Process
One shared capability used by every UNIQCloud service — the same way of copying, retaining, and restoring offsite data, whichever service the backup comes from.
Backup Visibility
Clear visibility of whether your backups are available when you need them — know what was copied offsite, when, and whether it succeeded.
Self-Service Backup Runs
Project teams can request and manage their own backup runs and follow their status end to end — no ticket required to check whether a copy has landed.
Sovereignty
UNICC Infrastructure
All backups remain within UNICC infrastructure.
UN Privileges and Immunities
Data is held under UN privileges and immunities.
No Foreign Jurisdiction
Backup data is not subject to foreign jurisdiction and is not accessible to any third-party cloud provider.
UNICC-Operated
Operated exclusively by UNICC personnel.
See the Service Plans for usage-based billing and backup coverage by service.
